There are literally dozens of reasons to study the martial arts. Everyday, countless numbers of children and adults take up the practice and study of such martial arts as karate, judo, aikido, as well as many other mixed or ecclectic forms. And, for the most part, a student will probably find what he or she is looking for in the program that they choose. I say "for the most part" because, the one area of study that cannot be left to chance is that of self-defense.

There are three basic types of psychic attacks to contend with. The basic every day negative comment variety; the malicious and hurtful intentions variety and the full on hex, curse or continuous ill-wishing variety. Common Negativity - The first of these psychic attack varieties, the negative comment type is indeed the most prevalent and are relatively easy to combat.

When Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker voiced her objections toward women in combat she focused her editorial on the one female among 15 British sailors and marines held hostage by the Iranians. In singling out Leading Seaman Fay Turney, Parker stirred up a cauldron of my own feelings about American women in uniform fighting side by side with men in combat.

No doubt, martial arts is one of the longest form of self defense technique that ever existed since the beginning of human civilization. Each part of the world region have their own version of martial arts. And if you observe the world history closely, Kung Fu, the Chinese form of martial arts is perhaps one of the most well known and practised form of self defense arts from generation to generation.
